WELCOME
Pashmina, also known as Cashmere, comes from the Persian word “Pashm,” meaning premium quality wool fiber, often referred to as the Soft Gold King of fibers. It is the finest Cashmere wool in the world, known for being cozy and warm.
Over many centuries, Pashmina has come to be recognized as a special kind of wool derived from the outer skin of the Himalayan goat, known as Capra Hircus and locally called Chyangra. These goats live at high altitudes in the Himalayas, specifically above 14,000 feet. Himalayan goats can be found in the high plateau regions of Nepal, Tibet, Kashmir, and the central plains of Inner Mongolia. To survive the bitter winter cold in such extreme climates, they develop warm winter fur. Only animals living in these conditions produce this fine wool. The wool from the underbelly of the Himalayan goats is used to make Pashmina. A goat produces about 3-5 ounces of wool per year, and one woven Pashmina shawl requires nearly the wool from three goats. Their undercoat grows a unique, incredibly soft Pashm – an inner coat that is six times finer than human hair. Since it measures only 15-16.5 microns in diameter for Grade A Cashmere yarn, it cannot be spun by machines, so the downy wool is hand-woven.
Pashmina, the finest Cashmere wool, has been favored for centuries among royals and other elites as the most luxurious wool. This glorious wool is prized for its lightness, durability, and cozy warmth. In Nepal, it has been traced back to prehistoric times. People living at high altitudes discovered the unique and wonderful properties of Pashmina. A genuine Pashmina is not only a luxury item but also very rare.
Cashmere products are made with 100% pure Pashmina yarn and may also be blended with silks, differentiated by the weight of various 100% Cashmere items sourced from different Counts and Plies of pure Pashmina yarns.
Nepal is renowned for its hand-woven Pashmina products, regarded as the most precious possessions worldwide.
